Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

I work on computational models of language acquisition and comprehension. I am especially interested in how contemporary techniques from natural language processing can shed light on classic debates in linguistics, e.g. about the poverty of the stimulus. Most recently, I've been working on a grammar induction model that learns a categorial grammar from raw data (see my 2023 ACL Findings paper).
