I am a Kurdish-American historical linguist interested in the pre-history of the Iranian languages and the contact zone between Semitic and Iranian in the Kurdistan Region. The study of languages is a major component of my research which has so far included the study of Sanskrit, Avestan, Old Persian, Middle Persian, Parthian, Kurdish, Kurmanci, Syriac, Akkadian and counting.
