Congratulations to Bridget Smith, who has accepted a post-doc position funded by Mary Beckman's recently awarded Annaliese Maier Forschungspreis from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Their research, focused at the intersection of language acquisition and phonological change, is part of an international collaboration with Jonathan Harrington and the Institut für Phonetik und Sprachverarbeitung (IPS) at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU). Bridget will pursue research questions relating to her dissertation work on sound change.

Bridget says, "I will get to do the fun and interesting research that I like *and* will get paid to do it. Double win. Triple win because I get to stay in Columbus a little while longer in the best damn linguistics department in the land."
