Marivic Lesho (PhD, ’13) has accepted a postdoctoral appointment in Postcolonial Language Studies at the University of Bremen, in Germany. She'll be working with Eeva Sippola, conducting research on Philippine language contact and teaching courses related to postcolonial linguistics (such as contact/creoles, sociolinguistics, language endangerment, or fieldwork).
Katie Hout (BA, ’12) reports that she is currently a graduate student in linguistics at UC San Diego. She presented a part of her research on Mushunguli at the Annual Conference on African Linguistics (ACAL 45) last April, and is working on an extension of that project.
Paul B. Gallagher (MA, ’80) is celebrating his 30th anniversary in the translation business, as his first paid job, not counting in-house work, was from Battelle in May 1985. This is also his company's 15th year in business (founded in January 2000).
Mike Cahill (PhD, ‘99) will soon begin work as the Orthography Services Coordinator for SIL International.
