Alyssa Allen
My research focuses on human-machine interactions from both user experience and model performance perspectives. I am interested in how users conceptualize generative AI systems as conversational partners and the downstream impact of anthropomorphism on user expectations for model performance. Additionally, I focus on computational questions surrounding building text- and voice-based models that attend to a wide range of speaker needs.
I am also currently a Graduate Research Assistant and Data Scientist for Nationwide Insurance through the Nationwide Center for Advanced Customer Insights.
