Hola! My Pronouns are Ella/She/Her. I was born and raise in Puerto Rico, my research interests focus mainly on conversation and discourse analysis in computer mediated communication (CMC). For my undergrad I worked on the variations and miscommunications of text messages within generations. I am currently interested in the paralinguistic functions of emojis and scalar implicatures in emojis. I am also working with Puerto Rican Language and Identity in Beauty Pageants! For future work I'll look into Code-Switching within the Puerto Rican community. On a more creative/fun side I enjoy writing poems.
