I take a mathematically formal approach to grammatical theory using modern type theories, such as the Calculus of Constructions and its extensions. My research focuses on Native American languages of the Algonquian and Quechuan families. I have had long involvement with a number of digital lexicography and corpora building projects. In these digital humanities efforts, I work to bridge the gap between formal theory and practical tools for field linguists working to document and protect endangered languages.
