Introduction to Inclusive Teaching: Transparency and Universal Design

Our students enter our classrooms with diverse backgrounds, perspectives, degrees of confidence in their academic abilities, and levels of preparation for college-level work. In this interactive workshop facilitated by The Drake Institute for Teaching and Learning, participants will consider how various aspects of a student's identity impact their learning and performance. They will then work together to apply two research-supported frameworks for inclusive teaching to their courses, Transparency in Learning and Teaching (TILT) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
