About

AI tools do things that appear similar to what human beings do, such as writing text, searching documents, and generating solutions to problems. However, the extent of the similarities is often complex and unclear. This 12 credit hour certificate program exposes students to the similarities and differences between human linguistic reasoning and processing in language models that form the basis of modern artificial intelligence. Issues explored include the nature of mind, the potential scientific implications of AI technologies for the study of human language and cognition, and the practical implications of AI technologies for various domains of human endeavor.

Students in this certificate program must:

  • Have previously earned a high school diploma
  • Attend courses in person on Ohio State's Columbus campus
