Coursework

The AI Language and Mind certificate program requires students to complete four courses and a portfolio. As an interdisciplinary certificate program, the elective coursework must span several departments.

The courses included in the certificate program are offered as part of each department's undergraduate curriculum, and are also enrolled in by non-certificate students. Most courses are taught in person on Ohio State's Columbus campus. Course prerequisites vary; details, as well as course descriptions, can be found in the course catalog.

 

Foundational Course

One course is required from the options below.

  • LING 3804: AI Models of Language
  • CSE 3521: Survey of Artificial Intelligence I: Basic Techniques
  • CSE 5052: Survey of Artificial Intelligence for Non-Majors

 

Elective Courses

Three courses are required from the options below. All three courses must be from different departments. At least one course must come from the "Theory" category, and at least one course must come from the "Practical" category.

Portfolio

A portfolio reflecting on the certificate coursework must be completed via PebblePad. Students enrolled in the certificate program should contact the advisor for access.
