Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Please join us for a hands-on workshop by volunteers Molly Shea and Debra Seltzer from the Columbus chapter of the national organization Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ).

SURJ is a network of groups and individuals organizing White people for racial justice. Through community organizing, mobilizing, and education, SURJ moves White people to act as part of a multi-racial majority for justice with passion and accountability. We work to connect people across Columbus, Ohio while supporting and collaborating with local and national racial justice organizing efforts. SURJ provides a space to build relationships, skills and political analysis to act for change. We envision a society where we struggle together with love, for justice, human dignity and a sustainable world.

In this workshop we will discuss ways that racism shows up in our everyday lives, while at work, in our social life, and our home life. We'll practice ways to engage with ourselves and others that creates openings for understanding and increases our ability to change behavior and beliefs.
