Mary Beckman (shown above) was presented with the the Anneliese Maier Research Award at the Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung Anneliese Maier Forschungspreis Awards Ceremony and Interdisciplinary Colloquium. She spoke on the topic "Grimm's Law and the evolution of phonological systems." Judith Tonhauser was also present as a Humboldt Fellow. Peter Culicover has also been a Humboldt Fellow, so Ohio State linguistics was well-represented at this prestigious international event.
