Room 200, Oxley Hall
Contains 9 Macintosh computers which are loaded with Mac OSX 10.7, Windows 7, and Linux Operating systems. All linguistics students and faculty may use the computers in this lab. Aside from all the usual daily uses like writing papers, doing research, running statistics, or answering email, linguists may use these computers to run their programs at the office rather than on their home computers or laptops. For those who need more computing power, the dapartment also has two public servers that can handle most modeling applications. Switching between operating systems is easy and connecting to the ling servers is a breeze. Most any software you might need is loaded on these computers, but if it's not, just ask Jim, and he can probably make it happen.
