Dr. Campbell-Kibler's sociolinguistics lab is used for audio and video recording and conducting sociolinguistic experiments. It's also a handy place to work on transcription, acoustic analysis and experimental design, and to hold project group meetings. The lab has three computer workstations, equipped with PST button boxes, Bose noise-canceling headphones and microphones. Tools for in-lab or field recording include a camcorder, Zoom H2 and H4 audio recorders and head-mounted and lavalier microphones. Software installed on the workstations includes E-Prime, Praat and Transcriber AG.
