Jefferson Barlew and Rachel Burdin successfully defended dissertations

Congratulations are due to Jefferson Barlew and Rachel Burdin who have both successfully defended their dissertations.

Jefferson’s dissertation, “The semantics and pragmatics of perspectival expressions in English and Bulu: The case of deictic motion verbs,” was co-advised by Judith Tonhauser and Craige Roberts, with committee members Marie de Marneffe and Zhiguo Xie. 

Rachel’s dissertation, “Variation in the form and function of Jewish English Intonation," was advised by Brian Joseph, with committee members Don Winford and Cynthia Clopper.
