Graduate student William Thomas received one of the two student poster awards at the joint virtual student session for ESSLLI (European Summer School in Logic, Language, and Information) and the Web Summer School in Logic, Language, and Information (WeSSLLI, the virtual incarnation of NASSLLI). His poster was titled: The Discourse Effect of "Just" in Imperative and Interrogative Utterances.
Alum Whitney Gegg-Harrison (BA '05, MA '06) was promoted to Associate Professor in the Writing, Speaking, and Argument Program at the University of Rochester.

Graduate student Cory Shain and advisor Micha Elsner won the best paper award at the SIGNLL Conference on Computational Natural Language Learning for their paper entitled, “Acquiring language from speech by learning to remember and predict.” A video of their pre-recorded talk is available here.
