Alum Shelome Gooden (PhD '03) gave keynotes at the Speech Prosody conference in Leiden in July and at NWAV on November 9th. She is also co-leading a national effort, Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences Research Leaders Network (HASS-RLN), along with fellow sociolinguist Christine Mallinson at UMBC.
